It’s hiring season for uOttaHack’s organizer team!
We’ve provided plenty of detail on the application about roles, requirements, etc. but we really pride ourselves on the culture we try to promote so here’s a quick overview of what being on the team is like!

We put a massive priority on inter-team chemistry and creating an atmosphere that promotes new ideas and collaboration. The quality of work we produce becomes exponentially better when we’re working closely with each other and aren’t just a group of people thrown together.
What to expect:
Organizer Retreat
We invite past, returning, and new organizers to a weekend retreat in the Summer so we can brainstorm new ideas, get to know each other, and make a vision for the entire year.
HackCon
A conference exclusively for hackathon organizers across North America, organized by our friends at MLH! One of the most unique opportunities to meet people from so many different schools, and a truly invaluable resource to learn from fellow organizers.
Our beautiful fellow Canadians! (Including: Western, UBC, Concordia, McGill, McMaster, U of T, and more)
Regular Team Building Socials
Throughout the year, we’ll prioritize putting aside time from organizing uOttaHack and take a well-earned break! Just another way for you to meet everyone on the team and get to know them outside uOttaHack.
As much fun as it is, all this is to help build our team relations and make sure you enjoy working with each other for the entire journey! We believe if you’re genuinely enjoying what you do for uOttaHack, that will translate into a labor of love and produce awesome things.
